Exclamation

For those who haven't seen Spectre 1 is working on these new sculpts...
coloumbine

Spectre... I love your sculpts, especially the dark faeries.

That said, I really REALLY hate these two particular sculpts.

Jack the ripper, Manson, and so forth have gotten to a point where they're almost legend, myth, and lore despite the horrors they inflicted on mankind (not unlike the Cowboys, Gunslingers, and Indian Killers)

These two individuals were cowardly, sick, blemishes on humanity who wanted to iconify themselves with their senseless act of violence. My wife is a school teacher and I have two daughters in school... the idea of some cowardly f**ks getting their rocks off killing kids makes me ill.

I know it's a very hazy line... Billy Kincaid was a child killer... but he was fictional and the sculpt is a moment in a fictional story meeting his well-deserved end.

The idea that anyone would buy those from you and think "Ooh... these guys are COOL! bang-boom..." is really wrong.

No offense, but maybe an email would have been a better response.

The thing is, in 20 years, they'll be just as acceptable as Manson or something of the sort. That is what's wrong. If something is recent, it bothers people. However, if it was long enough ago, people don't really care about it.

Yeah like Hoffman said, they're either gonna be in history in years to come, or just be forgotten about ...

and, I dont think all the people who woudl buy it woudl be "awwww cool!" but there probably are some demented people that'll do that, which is pretty sick

Where im goign with this, I dunno, but, you have a point that it almost is a different case with these figures because it's not really been a large amoutn of time, however, if the dude chooses to make 'em and sell them, and people actually buy them, who knows!

Sculpey... I was hoping maybe a micron of this would soak into the thick skulls of the younger whiteboarders.

It's not really the time thing so much... it's the actual "people and act" involved.

Even Jack the Ripper was never caught... he was almost a real life boogie man... These two are cowardly ass fucks who deserve NO iconification and are hopefully rotting in hell.

Just because we disagree, we have thick skulls?

I'm sorry, I thought you were a better person than that.

I think I need to leave this place for a while.

I totally get your point baimun, but I think Manson's victim survivors (like Roman Polanski) woudn't feel Manson is in any way different than the Columbine cowards.

Baimun, have you heard of McFarlane Monsters 6 Faces of Madness?

If the time thing has nothing to do with it, then what makes this line ok?

I agree with Baimun. His work is good, however, the characters he chooses to make just don't interest me. No offense, "different strokes for different folks".
